Yeshayahu Heiliczer was caught up in the 1980's and '90's in Hebrew Christianity along with his wife, Miryam and his daughters. As he felt it necessary to try to find the promised "Jewish Roots" of the Christian faith, he and his family moved closer and closer to the Hebraic version of the faith called "Messianic Judaism"

Yeshayahu became an international teacher of Messianic Judaism via the Internet, was the founder of the Association of Torah Observant Messianics, and was an important part of the "Nazarene" movement within Messianic Judaism as the Nasi of the Nazarene Bet Din, which wrote and standardized religious practice among Torah Observant Messianic Jews. He wrote and published the first widely disseminated Messianic Passover Haggadah, and helped to standardize other prayer among Messianics.

He and his wife ran a small congregation in Bowie Maryland called Knesset HaShuvim and Yeshayahu was convinced that it was necessary to do research into the "New Testament" and Christian doctrine to "prove" the Messiahship of Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) and the truth of the New Testament. But as he researched and as he taught, he became convinced that the New Testament was in fact not reliable history, contained many mistakes and in fact contained doctrine that conflicted with the idea that Jesus/Yeshua was the promised Jewish Messiah.

Eventually he "taught himself out of a job" and found that he was teaching that Torah and normative Judaism was the only truth and that the Hebrew Bible was G-d's only "handbook" for the lives of his creation.

Yeshayahu and his wife made aliyah (emmigrated) to Israel in 2005 and now live near Jerusalem, enjoying and living in the land that G-d gave the Jewish people as a perpetual inheritance.
